Why Game Development?

I could tell you my past and allow you to simply understand why I have chosen to study game development. And yet, I have written about my past too many times before. It is always the same: "When I was a child...," "When I did this thing I hope catches your attention...," "There was that one time... uhm..."

It is boring.

It is 'exactly' why I have chosen this career. I am tired of the plainness that comes when you follow a format of life that should lead you to success. I do not want a mundane life. It has taken a while, but I have realized that I need to combine my necessity to know how things work and my passion to create. The ability to play with characters and the world they reside in has led me to write my own stories. I feel like there's something more powerful than just writing. Just imagine... a character you can create and interact with. A world you can change. Rules of nature that you can morph. I want to create and build upon this mundane world. I always have. It just took me a little while to realize that there IS a career where this is possible.

With game development, every detail is at my (and my team's) fingertips.

After all, all I want is to challenge reality.
